The NIMS Award Symposium is an international academic symposium organized by NIMS to commemorate the presentation of the international academic prize “NIMS Award .”
The theme of this year’s symposium is:
“Advanced Energy Materials & Technologies to Shape our Sustainable Future – Perovskite Solar Cells.”
The program will feature recipients’ lectures by:
Prof. Tsutomu Miyasaka (Toin University of Yokohama)
Prof. Henry J. Snaith (University of Oxford)
Prof. Nam-Gyu Park (Sungkyunkwan University)
In addition, 11 invited talks will be delivered by leading researchers from Japan and abroad, offering a full day of cutting-edge science.
We encourage not only researchers, but also university and graduate students, as well as participants from industry, to join us. We hope this symposium will serve as a source of inspiration for your next research theme or breakthrough in development.

Overview: Creating a sustainable society requires establishing an energy flow that utilizes solar cells, rechargeable batteries, and hydrogen technologies as its key elements.
This symposium focuses on solar cells, which reside at the starting point of such an energy flow. We take up in particular perovskite solar cells, a prominent development that originated in research conducted in Japan.
The subjects covered in the symposium will range from basic materials science to research and development aimed at device and system applications.
