Overview of the Service and Membership Eligibility

  • What is the NIMS Alumni Network?

    The NIMS Alumni Network is a community website designed for individuals who have previously been affiliated with NIMS, including researchers and students, to interact and strengthen collaboration such as joint research and recruitment activities. Through the website, you can register and update your academic and career information, search for and view profiles of other alumni members, contact them via email, check event and news announcements, and apply for certificates of affiliation. In addition, an exclusive Members Forum is available for members to post and share information.

  • Who is eligible to register?

    Eligibility (for individuals with previous affiliation with NIMS):

    • Executives
    • Permanent Employees (Researchers, Engineers, Administrative Staff, Others)
    • Fixed-Term Employees (Career Building Employee, NIMS Invited Researcher, NIMS Special Researcher, NIMS Speclisst Staff, NIMS Postdoctoral Researcher, ICYS Research Fellow, NIMS Invited Engineer, NIMS Engineer, NIMS Junior Researcher, Trainee, Technical Staff, Administrative Staff, NIMS Career Staff, Other)
    • Individuals who have been re-employed by NIMS after retirement and are currently continuously employed (all positions)
  • Can I register while I am still employed or enrolled at NIMS?

    As a general rule, registration is limited to those who have retired, resigned, graduated, or completed their studies at NIMS. However, as an exception, individuals who have been re-employed at NIMS after retirement are also eligible to join.

  • What benefits are available to members?

    Members can enjoy various benefits, including searching for and connecting with other members, accessing the Members Forum, and applying for certificates of affiliation online.

Membership Registration and Usage

  • How can I register for the Alumni Network?

    Click the "Sign up" button on the top page, enter your email address, and follow the on-screen instructions to proceed to the membership registration page.

  • Is there a fee for membership registration?

    Currently, there is no registration fee or annual membership fee.

  • What should I do if my email address changes?

    After logging in, you can update your information from the My Profile page.

  • How can I change my registered information (email address, affiliation, etc.)?

    After logging in, you can freely edit your information on the My Profile page.

  • How can I withdraw my membership?

    If you wish to withdraw, please contact the secretariat via the inquiry form. We will provide information about the withdrawal procedure.

Features and Services

  • Where can I find information about events and seminars?

    You can check for updates in the “NIMS Announcements” section on the top page, as well as in the “Announcements” and “Members Forum” available exclusively to members.

  • Do you provide information about job opportunities or recruitment?

    Announcements regarding recruitment from NIMS are posted on the top page. In addition, members have access to information that is only accessible to members.

  • How can members contact each other?

    You can use the "Member Search" feature to find other members and view the information they have made public. If a member's email address is public, you can contact them directly by email.

  • Can I apply for a certificate of enrollment?

    Please enter the required information in the application form available from the “Certificate of Enrollment” menu. If you need a special format, you can attach it to the application form. After your application, a staff member in charge will contact you.

  • What features does the Members Forum offer?

    The members-only forum allows members to post information, announcements, and notices to other members. Posts on the forum are one-way communications from the poster, and features such as comments or replies from other members are not available.
    When using the forum, please review and follow the and rules to ensure that your posts are appropriate.

Login Troubleshooting

  • What should I do if I cannot log in?

    Click the "Log In" button and then select "Forgot Password?" on the screen. Enter your email address and submit the form; you will receive an email with instructions to reset your password.
